Now is the time to make mental health a priority for faculty and staff

Developed by Educators for Educators, The Wellbeing Elixir is an exciting new online course. Higher education professionals are exploring well-being and resilience to become stronger and less stressed in their personal and professional lives. The presenters of The Wellbeing Elixir are teachers who have gone through similar challenges and have sought answers from both ancient traditions and modern scientific methods. They will guide you step by step through this hybrid online course. You will learn how to be more resilient when you face setbacks in your professional and personal life. And you’ll gain tools to help others, too.

The one thing that’s common across higher education right now is burnout. This is a sensitive issue because it affects everyone differently and no one wants to talk about it much.

What would happen if the faculty and staff were completely rejuvenated and prepared for the challenges ahead? What if they could spend one hour a month getting their much-needed well-being guidance from education experts? How will this affect productivity on your campus?

Will this course really make a difference?

Understanding and managing physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual well-being can lead to greater happiness and less stress. Developed by educators, this course helps higher education professionals deal with well-being and flexibility.

Problems with mental health and wellness, particularly on US college campuses, have escalated in recent years and have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many education professionals are aware of the problem and may have taken some steps to try to help themselves. Participants in this course are prepared for strong leadership and guidance toward mastering optimal health.

In addition to the powerful, self-paced course content, The Wellbeing Elixir includes optional live group zoom sessions. Every month offers Drs. Seena and Stuart Haines are hosting a Zoom meeting for all course registrants. Participants can ask questions, receive feedback, and learn from colleagues. The additional depth that this learning community will add to the participant’s learning experience makes this course unique.

Users learn at their own pace

The asynchronous portion of the course contains videos, texts, supplementary materials, assignments and reflection questions to further enhance learning. Each unit provides materials that support several learning styles and provides additional references for those who wish to dig deeper into a particular topic.

Participants can complete these videos and assignments on their own schedule. At the end of the six modules, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
