Gyms and fitness instructors throughout St. Helens will hold events throughout the day aimed at encouraging more people to enjoy the benefits of physical activity.

Organizers hope to inspire more kids to participate this year with hiking or running, where they can jump, skip or even jump down a one-mile track.

Earlier this year, the nominations poured in when we were looking for the best fitness trainer in St. Helens and the best gym in town.

Ashley James Ward was crowned Best Fitness Trainer and Ax & Hammer was named Best Gym.
